Video streaming upgrade

It sounds like we finally have interest in pursuing an upgrade to our rapidly aging video streaming infrastructure.  Installed five years ago, our QuickTime and Windows Media encoders/servers need replacement.  This brings up a lot of questions, like what technology to use: Flash, Silverlight, Windows Media, etc…At this point I’m not even sure what our requirements will be.

More to come on this as it develops.

  1. Really curious about UStream now, the idea of people participating socially in an event while watching the video stream.

I’ll plan on conducting some tests next week with UStream. There is a premiere version of the UStream Producer that is $200, might be worth a look. So, do we “get out” of the live streaming business?

The VOD content still needs a solution.
